Thank you for visiting Lee County Bureau of Corrections maintenance website. Let me tell you a little about the detention department. The detention department works solely for the Sheriff's department. We are responsible for the maintenance & repair for the Bureau of Corrections (in other words Jails). We have a total of 12 employees who are responsible for the total maintenance of all the facilities. The Sheriff has two facilities that house all of Lee County's inmates. The Town Jail and original facility is located downtown on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr.Blvd. and Monroe Street. This facility houses about 600 inmates and is a Maximum Security Facility. The other facility is located on Ortiz Ave and there we have Core One and our newest building,Core Two (tower).  We are also responsible for the maintenance of the CPUs which house the 60-90 day inmates. The total inmate population at this time at the Ortiz facility is about 1200.
