Suncoast Federal Credit Union| As a Lee County employee, you are entitled to membership in Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union (SSFCU). You may become a "member" by opening a savings account in the amount of $5. Call the SSFCU Member's Call Center at 813-621-7511 directly, or 800-999-5887 for more information.
Florida Retirement System (FRS) All regular full-time employees (some part-time employees may also qualify) are automatically enrolled in the Florida Retirement System, and begin earning this benefit from the first day of their employment. You will be fully vested after six (6) years of employment. Full retirement age after vesting is 62. Alternate Social Security Is a pre-tax retirement savings program provided for those employees who are hired as "On-Call" or "Temporary." Qualified employees contribute 7.5% of their pre-tax income into an account. These contributions earn interest at the current declared market rate. Enrollment is automatic with your employment. All the money in your account - your contributions and any earned interest – is yours to withdraw when you terminate employment or retire.
