CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON NORTH FORT MYERS IMPROVEMENTS
FORT MYERS, Fla. (June August 9, 2000) – The North Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA)
is pleased to announce the commencement of construction for the following
improvement projects:
Bayshore Road (SR 78)
This landscaping project will
begin in mid-August. There will be over
1,000 trees planted. Live Oaks, Pink
Trumpet Tree, Cabbage Palms, Dahoon Holly, Crape Myrtle, Florida Slash Pine and
Bald Cypress will be planted in the median along a three (3) mile stretch of
road from the vicinity of Home Depot east to Slater Road. The project is expected to be completed
within five (5) months.
This landscaping project will
begin in mid-August. This project
consists of landscaping at the base of the Edison Bridge in the median and
along the outside right-of-way and decorative pavers in the intersection of Old
US 41 and Pondella Road. Approximately
100 cabbage palms and colorful ground cover will be installed at the base of
the Edison Bridge. The multicolored
brick paver design is a circular pattern with a herring bone design and an interior
fish scale pattern using chocolate, terra cotta and sand colors. The project is expected to be completed
within five (5) months.
