"People helping the People and Animals of Lee County"
Lee County, Florida—Lee County Animal Services, in an effort to help the people and animals of Lee County, is running a special promotion to benefit the United Way of Lee County. Throughout the month of October, Animal Services will implant a microchip id into your pet for a $10 donation to the United Way of Lee County.
Every two seconds a family pet is lost. Many people say, "It will never happen to me." Before you know it a pet can dart out of the house, a gate may be unintentionally left open or not latched tightly, or just about any mistake can happen. People become frantic looking for lost pets. There is great cost and effort required to place ads and posters looking for a lost animal. Then people ask themselves, "Did the animal have a collar? What if the identification falls off?" The microchip id is the only proven method of pet identification that is permanent and tracks throughout the country.
The tiny microchip id is so small that it fits through a hypodermic needle. Just like a vaccination, it’s injected under the skin of your pet where it remains safely for life. The chip contains a unique identification number that identifies your animal. The microchip id can be read by veterinarians and shelters throughout the nation. Once registered, the pet is part of a national database and the shelter or veterinarian can call the registered owners of the pet. This reduces the time the animal is lost and helps guarantee that it will not be put to sleep in an overcrowded shelter. Transfer of animals is possible to new owners with a transfer of registration at a small fee.
Protect your animal for life with the microchip id, and help your neighbors throughout Lee County. Together we can make a difference.
