DVDs Are Coming Soon To A Lee County Library Near You!

Starting Friday December 14^th, use your Lee County Library Card to check out great DVDs for free.

We have over 500 titles and DVDs are available at every Lee County Library. Each branch library has over 100 DVDs and each Regional Library has over 400 DVDs.

Adult Collection Development Officer Diana Dearing says there’s a wide variety of titles.

" We’ve selected films that received the Academy Award, the Cannes Film Festival, Golden Globe or Los Angeles Film Critic Awards. We have a great selection of movie classics, multi-cultural and acclaimed foreign films."

" We also have historical, biographical and scientific programs like National Geographic as well as popular series like Hallmark Presentations, American Experience, and Mobil Masterpiece Theater."

"We have DVD’s for many interests. You can check out musicals and opera as well as DVD adaptations of books. We even have informational DVDs about computers, language, exercise and health."

Patrons have been requesting DVDs because of their high quality and many extra features.

• DVDs have many language choices as well as optional closed captioning and subtitles.

• DVDs are often packed with "extras", including behind-the-scenes footage, out-takes from the original filming and interviews with the stars.

• DVDs provide high quality sound and picture which do not degrade with repeated viewing.

You can check out up to 5 DVDs at a time and keep them for up to 2 weeks.
