- TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE DOG KENNEL FOR ADOPTIONS

Myers, October 4, 2000
– Lee County Animal Services will temporarily close their dog kennel for
adoptions from October 16 through October 21, 2000.
Needed repairs will be made to the kennel floors during this period.

- Lee
County Animal Services will continue to be open for citizens to claim their
lost pets, including dogs, during their normal hours, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Monday through Friday and 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturdays.
There will be no dog adoptions, however, during the week of October
16 through October 21, 2000. The temporary closing of the dog kennel will not affect
adoptions for cats or other pets.

shelter requests that pet owners wishing to relinquish their pets not bring
their animals to the facility during the week the kennels will be closed.
All available space will be needed to house stray animals waiting to
be claimed by their owners.

County Animal Services will resume dog adoptions on October 23, 2000.
