SANIBEL CAUSEWAY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

Public Meeting
Monday, March 22, 2004 at 5:00 p.m.
Sanibel Community Center

Fort Myers, FL (March 11, 2004) - The Lee County Department of Transportation in cooperation with the United States Coast Guard and other resource agencies will conduct a Public Meeting on the replacement of the Sanibel Causeway drawbridge. The meeting will be held on Monday, March 22, 2004 beginning at 5:00 p.m., at the Sanibel Community Center, 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, Florida.

The purpose of the meeting is to present the recommended fixed-span replacement alternative for the Sanibel Causeway drawbridge, review the project aesthetics chosen to date and discuss the United States Coast Guard permitting process. Representatives from the United States Coast Guard, resource agencies, Lee County Department of Transportation and their consultants will be available from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to discuss the project and answer questions. The United States Coast Guard and other resource agencies will make a formal presentation on the permitting process beginning at 6 p.m. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer period. An audio recording of the meeting will be made for inclusion in the project record.
