WAGNER'S FLORIDA CHALLENGER BASEBALL FESTIVAL RETURNS TO LEE COUNTY
 
Fort Myers, Florida (4/14/04) Lee County will host one of its most important athletic contests this weekend at historic Terry Park. For the second year, Wagner's Florida Challenger Baseball Festival will be held on Saturday, April 17 & Sunday, April 18 at Terry Park, 3410 Palm Beach Boulevard, Fort Myers.
 
Nearly 200 physically and mentally challenged players between the ages of 6-18 will grace the diamonds of one of Lee County's most famous landmarks.
 
"Out of all the events I am involved in, I enjoy this one the most" said Tom Giffen, event director. Tom Giffen is also owner of the Roy Hobbs World series, which is held in Lee County each November.
 
This program was named in memory of long time Lee County resident and Challenger Baseball enthusiast Mr. Bob Wagner, who passed away in 2002.
 
The following is a tentative schedule of events for the program.
 
Saturday, April 17th
Registration (Terry Park) - 11:00 AM to Noon
 
Games (Terry Park) - Noon to 4:00 PM
 
Picnic at the Lee County Sports Complex - 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM
 
Parade of athletes and awards presentation at the Lee County Sports Complex, Hammond Stadium - 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
 
Sunday, April 18
Games (Terry Park) - 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
