COUNTY'S DEBRIS REMOVAL EFFORT PASSES THE 400,000 CUBIC YDS. MARK

FORT MYERS, Fla. (September 11, 2004) - Lee County has collected more than 435,000 cubic yards of horticultural debris since the Hurricane Charley post-disaster recovery began.

As of Sep. 8 (last Wednesday), Lee County had collected 435,980 cubic yards of horticultural and construction & demolition debris (load tickets run several days behind because of time needed to input them into an accounting system).

The county is continuing the mass effort, however, due to Hurricane Ivan, activities may be curtailed Monday (Sep. 13).

SFM Area - Started 8/19/04

1.  Plantation Rd area S of McG Bap Chrch done, Entrada, Casamada, E of Southpoint done.
2.  Pine Manor, Page Park, Beacon Manor, Briarcliff, Island Pk, Brentwood, Pinecrest Reflection Lakes   
    complete.
3.  Overlook area, Fiesta Village, Southpoint, Tanglewood, Macgregor, Villas area complete
4.  Kelley Green, Cook Rd, Kelley Rd area 98%. Working Pine Ridge, Kelley Rd, AW Bulb area all 98%
