LEE FACILITIES MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEE ELECTED TO NATIONAL
BOARD
FORT MYERS, Fla. (October 13, 2004) - Lee County Facilities Management
employee Michael Casanova has been elected to the board of directors of the
international Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA).
The Rockville, MD-based IAQA is a non-profit organization of professionals from the public and private sector dedicated to helping formulate standards for maintaining a safe indoor air environment.
Casanova is a Certified Indoor Environmentalist and a Certified Mold Remediator. He oversees the county's indoor air quality program for its many facilities. Lee County's air quality program has been featured in the national media for its work to prevent mold from growing in its building ventilation and HVAC systems.
Casanova also helped start the Inter-County IAQ Committee - a group of 25 local government and school facility managers from South Florida. The committee's mission is to empower government employees to work regionally and cross-jurisdictionally to improve indoor air quality in their public facilities.
