NOTED NATURALIST JIM FOWLER LENDING SUPPORT TO BABCOCK RANCH ACQUISITION EFFORT
FORT MYERS, Fla. (October 25, 2004) - Jim Fowler, one of the world's most noted naturalists, has agreed to be a spokesman for the Babcock Ranch Acquisition and is in Southwest Florida this week to promote the effort.
Fowler is known to many for his work on the nationally televised Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, which featured Marlin Perkins and Fowler as co-hosts.
Fowler is president of the Fowler Center for Wildlife Education in New York and serves on the board of the Explorers Club. He also sits on the boards of Friends of Conservation, Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and Global Communications for Conservation (GCC).

The not-for-profit Babcock Ranch Preservation Partnership was established in July to raise funds for the purchase and preservation of Babcock Ranch in Charlotte and Lee counties. The 91,600-acre ranch is considered one of Southwest Florida's most outstanding areas of natural resources and wildlife habitat.
