Deadline for Yard Debris Clean-Up Upper Captiva
FORT MYERS, Fla. (October 28, 2004) -Lee County's Debris Management Contractor is in the process of completing the collection of the vegetative hurricane debris on Upper Captiva. We are requesting that all property owners ensure that their vegetative waste is placed along the roads no later than November 14, 2004 for collection and disposal by the County. The County will not be responsible for collecting and disposing any horticultural debris brought out to the roadsides after November 14, 2004.
Collection and disposal operations will continue for a few days after the above date but only for eligible material that was brought out to the roads in a timely manner. County personnel will take note of any material set out after November 14, 2004, and the respective home-owners will be responsible for the removal of that material.
Vegetative waste should be placed in neat piles along the road sides separate from demolition debris. Property owners should ensure that their private contractors are properly hauling and disposing of the demolition debris at all times and any additional horticultural debris (after November 14, 2004).
The Solid Waste Division thanks the residents of Lee County for their efforts and assistance. Any questions may be directed to the Solid Waste Division at 338-3302.
