FORT MYERS, Fla. (October 27, 2004) - Time is running out to file for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster recovery assistance in Lee County.
FEMA is operating two Disaster Recovery Centers, where people can apply for assistance, in Lee County. Disaster Recovery Centers bring the major providers of emergency assistance together in one location, making the process more convenient for applicants.
The Lee County locations are: 1500 Monroe Street in downtown Fort Myers; and 11281 Summerlin Square Blvd. in the Summerlin Square Mall.
The DRCs currently are open from 8:00AM until 7:00PM every day. The Centers will operate as long as there is a need, but as fewer people come in, the Centers will close. Do not delay.
Persons requesting assistance should register by telephone by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). For TDD service call 1-800-462-7585. Do not delay, the FEMA application deadline is December 11, 2004.
