Humane Society of Lee County and Lee County Animal Services partner to promote Home 4 the Holidays
The Humane Society of Lee County (HSLC) and the Lee County Animal Services (LCAS) will be joining over 1,000 other animal shelters throughout the world to host the annual Home 4 the Holidays adoption campaign. Throughout the month of December the HSLC an LCAS hopes to unite hundreds of orphaned pets with loving, adoptive families.
The Lee County Commissioners will make a public proclamation announcing that December will be recognized as Home 4 the Holidays month.
Adoption rates will remain the same and include initial worming, heartworm/feline leukemia test, rabies vaccination, spay/neuter, flea treatment, and other pre-adoption vaccinations, as well as a Lee County license.
Throughout the month of December, anyone adopting a pet will receive a special gift. Staff members will be taking photos of families and their new pets. The holiday photos may be framed or made into buttons and given to the adoptive parents as a way to commemorate such a special occasion.
While visiting either animal shelter, take a moment to admire their decorative holiday giving tree. If you’re looking for the right gift to give to the shelter, select an ornament off the tree for a great idea.
There will also be a special drawing at each of the shelters at the end of the month. Unique holiday gift baskets, one specific to a canine and one for a feline, will be on display in the lobbies of the HSLC and LCAS and will be the prizes raffled off on December 30th. Visitors can purchase a raffle ticket for only a $1. Anyone adopting a pet in December will receive one free raffle ticket.
