Surface Water: This program is responsible for preparing stormwater master planning on a county-wide basis. This includes mapping and cataloging of drainage facilities, preparation of simulation models for selected rainfall events, monitoring water quality at selected locations, and monitoring rainfall and flood stage recordings.

Florida Statutes require that all Counties develop a five-year Capital Improvement Program.  It represents a five-year plan designed to meet the capital improvement needs of the County.  Capital improvements include major infrastructure facilities such as roads, bridges, parks, libraries, utilities, and general government facilities.
