County Commissioner, District 4 – encompassing North Fort Myers and North Cape Coral

Tammy Hall was elected to the Board of Commissioners in November 2004.  In November of 2005 she served as Chairwoman to the Board of County Commissioners becoming the first woman to chair the board in its 119 year history.  Other noteworthy accomplishments include:

  • Finance, Transportation, Administration Policy Committee Chairwoman – 2007 (Florida Association of Counties)
  • Taxation & Budget Review Committee Member – 2007 (Florida Association of Counties)
  • St. Lucie/Caloosahatchee Advisory Board – appointed by Governor Bush - 2006
  • Lee County Port Authority Chairwoman - 2005
  • Tourist Development Council Chairwoman- 2005
  • Board liaison to Veterans Affairs – 2005, 2006, 2007
  • Board liaison to Florida Gulf Coast University – 2007
  • Board liaison to Smart Growth - 2007

Commissioner Hall has taken the lead in fighting for the needs of Lee County at both the state and federal level.  She has represented the Board of County Commissioners as liaison to the Regional Stewardship Alliance, a seven county task force that annually reviews regional issues.  Started under the leadership of the late Representative Mike Davis, the task force continues under the leadership of Florida Gulf Coast University.  In 2006, she was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to the St. Lucie/Caloosahatchee Advisory Board.  Through her participation and leadership Lee County secured critical language in the Northern Everglades Protection Act to benefit and protect the Caloosahatchee and St. Lucie Estuaries.  Along with the support and leadership of Representative Trudi Williams and Senator Burt Saunders several million dollars will be uses to fund projects for restoration and protection of these important estuaries.

Prior to being elected to the Board of County Commissioners, Hall served as Ward 1 City Councilwoman for the City of Fort Myers.  In her four years of public service, she established herself as a compelling leader and championed the formulation and implementation of a new downtown Fort Myers revitalization plan.  Additionally, she took a leadership role in developing a strong economic and financial structure to return fiscal responsibility to city government.

Commissioner Hall has served and participated on several non-profit and charitable boards throughout the county, and numerous task forces dealing with the growth of our community.

Before being elected to public office, Tammy's marketing consultant firm Hall & Company provided services to local businesses, retail establishments, non-for-profit organizations, government, and regional and international clients.

Tammy Hall grew up in Eagle River Wisconsin.  She has been a Lee County resident since 1978, when she moved to Cape Coral with her family and currently resides in Northeast Cape Coral.
