Trade Permits

Trade Permits which have been reviewed and approved as part of a new construction permit (residential or commercial) do not require an additional review and may be handled in the following manner.  Upon issuance of the general permit, the subcontractor may request to be added to the permit by registering with the building department via our subcontractor fax form or in person at 1500 Monroe Street, Fort Myers, FL (click here for directions).

If using the subcontractor fax form, complete the form and have a registered authorized signer be sure to sign where indicated.  Fax the completed subcontractor fax form request to 239-485-8340 (drive-thru).  Your request will be processed within 24 hours and you may now call for inspections using our automated system.

Trade Permits which have not been reviewed under a new construction permit may be applied for via fax using the Trade Permit Application. 

If you wish to pay for your roofing, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, solar or gas trade permits by credit card either through eConnect or by phone, you can apply for it using the Credit Card Fax-In Trade Permit Application. When completed, fax the application to (239)485-8536. Your permit will be processed with 48 hours.
