Larry Kiker and his wife Paula, owner of Lahaina Realty, are residents of the Town of Fort Myers Beach.
Larry currently serves as Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners and his liaison appointments include the Tourist Development Council, the Mayors Council, State Legislative Delegation Representative, Canvassing Board Alternate, and West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND).
Prior to his election as County Commissioner, Larry served on the Fort Myers Beach LPA and then on the Town Council for six years and proudly represented the Town first as Vice Mayor and then as Mayor for five years. As a member of council, he represented the Town on several committees such as the Southwest Florida Planning Council and the Human Services Council. One of his most significant achievements was a proclamation he received from the 4th and 5th graders in recognition for his efforts working with the grade school; he was instrumental in creating a Youth Government Council for the Fort Myers Beach Elementary School. In 2006, he received the Citizen of the Year Award from the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce.
His commitment is to the people of Lee County as he continues to work to make our community vibrant for our children, our seniors, our residents and our businesses. His commitment to financial responsibility is based on successfully balancing the budget, prioritizing the needs of our communities to make Lee County a desired tourist destination.
Larry has a MBA from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He has worked in major corporations all over the United States for 20 years but chose Southwest Florida as his home when he decided to pursue his passion for fishing and boating. He became a USCG licensed captain where he chartered off shore fishing and diving for 10 years.
Larry's number one objective is to bring conservative money management to the county, specifically balancing the budget through a priority driven budget. Larry knows the best way to create jobs is by focusing on existing local businesses and by getting our tourism back to basics. He will balance our need for new development with our precious environment. Larry will work to make tomorrow a better day for our community.
Larry Kiker is honored to serve his community working with the Board of County Commissioners.
