    Medical Reimbursement Account
The MRA allows you to pay for your medical, dental, or vision expenses that are not covered under your health plan with pre-tax dollars that are deducted from your bi-weekly pay. With this account, you can pay for your out-of-pocket medical expenses during the plan year for yourself, your spouse, and all dependents you list on your federal tax return, whether or not they are covered on any of the Lee County Benefits plans. The maximum you may place in this account for the plan year is $2,500. Remember to be conservative in your estimate - unused funds in your account will be forfeited!  There is a grace period of two and a half months after the end of the calendar year in which the deductions are taken from your paycheck pre-tax.  Expenses must be incurred and paid by March 15th of the following year.  You have until April 15th to request reimbursement.

    Dependent Care Reimbursement Account
The Dependent Care Reimbursement Account works much like the Medical Reimbursement Account. You can contribute from $600 to $5,000 a year to a Dependent Care Account, before taxes are deducted from your pay, and taxes are never paid on these funds. When you have an eligible dependent care expense, you are reimbursed from your Dependent Care Account - tax free. Your contributions will be automatically deducted in equal amounts from each paycheck throughout the year. This account can be used for daycare expenses for the following dependents: Children under age 13, disabled children of any age, or your physically or mentally disabled spouse, dependent parents, or your spouse's dependent parents.  Again, you must pay expenses FIRST, then request reimbursement from your account. here is a grace period of two and a half months after the end of the calendar year in which the deductions are taken from your paycheck pre-tax.  Expenses must be incurred and paid by March 15th of the following year.  You have until April 15th to request reimbursement.
