 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

WATER SHUT OFF FOR ORANGE RIVER BOULEVARD AREA IN EAST FT. MYERS

FORT MYERS, FL (August 24, 2010) – Lee County Utilities will be shutting off the water on August 25, 2010 to perform a water tie-in from approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The following areas will be affected:   

Orange River Hills Subdivision, Pine Ridge at Fort Myers Village Condo, Orange River Blvd. from I-75 east to Lorraine Dr., Sabal Ln., Palm Ln., Northwind Dr., Southwind Dr., Oasis Park Rd., W. Buell Dr., E. Buell Dr., Lorraine Dr., Muskegon Ave., Ottumwa Ave., Brickroad Ct., Settler Dr., Amanda Ln., Procopio Ln. and the Value Place Hotel.

Once the tie-in is complete and the water service is restored, the area affected by the tie-in will be under a precautionary boil water notice.

Approximately 1,000 customers are affected.

As a precaution, all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes should be boiled at a rolling boil for one minute, or as an alternative, bottled water may be used.  This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until bacteriological test shows that the water is safe to drink.  Test results will take approximately 48-72 hours.

Please call 533-8575 after 4:30 p.m. August 27, 2010 and each day thereafter as needed to get the current status of the boil water notice.
