Traffic Crash Reports
Lee County Department of Transportation collects data on reported crashes in the County to help identify and correct traffic safety issues on County roads. Data is received through the State Division of Motor Vehicles, and the County processes crash data through a database analysis program. To be consistent with the State’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan, three types of crashes were reviewed: intersection crashes, lane departure crashes, and vulnerable user crashes.
Crash data for these reports are received from the crash reports submitted by area police agencies, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Highway Patrol. The data is processed through a database management program supported by the Lee County Department of Transportation and the Lee County Regional Planning Council.
