Thanks you for visiting Lee County Bureau of Corrections maintenance website. Let me tell you a little about the detention department. The detention department works solely for the Sheriff department. We are responsible for the maintenance & repair for the Bureau of Correction (in other words Jails). We have a total of 12 employees who a responsible for the total maintenance of all the facilities. The Sheriff has two facilities that house all of Lee County inmates. The Town Jail and original facility is located down town on the corner of Martha Luther King Hwy and Monroe Street. This facility houses about 600 inmates and is a Maximum Security Facility. The other facility is located on Ortiz Ave and there we have Core One and our newest facility Core Two (tower). We are also responsible for the maintenance of the CPUs which house the 60-90 day inmates. The total inmate’s population at this time at Ortiz facilities is about 1200.
