Dale
L. Nottingham- Program Manager
Dale is a native of Lee County and has managed the Pollution
Prevention Program for the past 20 years. He has been published in
Environmental Protection Agency and National Association of Counties
training publications for automotive maintenance operations which earned him
an invitation to a White House sponsored consortium on Government Operations
in Washington, DC. He has presented at dozens of conferences though Local,
State, National and International invitations over his years of service. In
2009 he was awarded the North American Hazardous Materials Managers
Associations P2 Person of The Year Award (State Chapter). He helped
establish leading protocols for hazardous waste assessments and reporting
requirements to meet State mandates and has established pollution prevention
technologies in several regulated industries. Along with his duties of
managing the P2 Program, he also leads Lee County’s Environmental Crimes Section.
Prior to his service with Lee County he was the owner of Native Perc
Testing which performed soil evaluations for onsite septic systems. He is
the proud father of Brittany who is
currently attending the University of Central Florida
seeking her degree in Electrical Engineering.
Tina Girard-
Planning Technician
Has earned a degree in Environmental Management from the University of
Rhode Island and has gained experience in the environmental field working
for consultant firms and at laboratories. She has been a customer service
representative at a privately owned environmental lab in Rhode Island and
has most recently worked as a environmental field technician for the Lee
County's Environmental Laboratory. She looks forward to continuing her
education working with the Pollution Prevention Program.
Becky
Alexander- Environmental Specialist, SR.
Has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Saint Leo
University which is located in Pasco County. Previous work experience
includes employment with the Department of Health in Limited Use Wells and
with Lee County Natural Resources NPDES Storm Water Program. I look forward
to furthering my career in the Pollution Prevention Program.
Dorian
Cauceglia- Environmental Specialist, SR.
Is a Chemist and Mathematician
with degrees from the University Of Central Florida. Under a NASA
grant he performed research and authored publications on hydrogen
purification, recovery, and detection. His past experience was with Perma-Fix, a hazardous waste facility in Orlando where he worked as a
Chemist managing various waste streams.
Jayne Coles-
Environmental Specialist, SR.
Jayne is a native
of
Lee County. She has worked for the County
for 12 years. She was a Permit Representative in Zoning before moving to the
Pollution Prevention Program as Planning Technician. She was promoted to an
Environmental Specialist Sr with the Pollution Prevention’s Program
Environmental Crimes Section. She is responsible for preparing search
warrants, researching, investigating and solving environmental enforcement
cases; she cites violators under Lee County Hazardous Waste Ordinance and
assists with preparing cases for trial. She works closely with other local
Law Enforcement agencies,
County
Attorney’s Office, Coast
Guard and the State Attorney’s Office. Jayne is Hazwoper certified, Storm
Water certified and has continued education through Department of
Environmental Protection (DEP) training conferences. She serves on the
planning committee with North American Hazardous Material Management
Association (NAHMMA). Jayne is a leading part of Earth Week and the “Green
Bus Experience”. She works with the
Lee County School District.
She educates the future of Lee County youth’s through fun activities to
teach them about recycling, reducing and reusing. Jayne enjoys her career
choice and the challenges that come with the job. She is proud that her
daughter has taken a strong interest in doing her part to help the
environment.
Bryan Ott- Environmental
Specialist, SR.
Has
a background in the environmental field since the start of his career in
1998. He has an Associates Degree in Science from Edison Community College.
While providing environmental services to the community, he is near
completion of his B.A. Degree in Environmental Studies from
Florida
Gulf Coast University. Working for government
agencies and private consultants he has a diverse background ranging from
environmental permitting; wetland ecology; geotechnical studies; soil and
groundwater quality; Phase I and II projects; remediation projects;
and project management. Being a Florida
native he looks forward to providing educational assistance to businesses in Lee County with hopes of keeping the community
clean from hazardous waste.
James Peet- Environmental
Specialist, SR
Over twenty years of experience conducting hazmat emergency response,
clean-up and remediation. Hazmat Instructor for 150 man Navy Cargo
Battalion. Specialized in monitoring, clean-up and remediation of nuclear
and chemical agents. Formal education includes a BS in Liberal Arts from
Excelsior College in New York and certifications as health physics and
emergency medical technician.
