Welcome to Lee County’s Office of Sustainability.  Established in June 2010, the new Office of Sustainability is charged with guiding and coordinating Lee County’s sustainability efforts, incorporating the tenets of smart growth as well as maximizing opportunities to promote balanced social, economic, and environmental resources in our community.  This broad perspective will better position Lee County to achieve long-term sustainability goals.  The website is intended to be a public resource for all things sustainable!  As the office evolves, so will the website.  Please check back periodically to see how it grows. 

 

Purpose

Lee County’s Office of Sustainability’s purpose is twofold:

• The office will identify goals and realize Lee County’s commitment to conducting the most efficient, responsible, and coordinated operations.
• The office will provide leadership in the cultivation of a livable and resilient community where there is an unmistakable balance between social well-being and equity, economic prosperity, and environmental resource conservation.
