Lee County has changed our planning and budgeting processes, working across departments and with a variety of stakeholders to maximize our resources and avoid unintended consequences. Efforts to revise the Lee Plan and other guiding documents to ensure we incorporate Complete Streets in future projects are underway. At the same time, the County understands the need to start implementing Complete Streets whenever possible in the interim.
Staff created a comprehensive evaluation matrix that helps the Complete Streets Team and the Community Sustainability Advisory Committee’s Complete Streets Working Group make sound recommendations to begin incorporating Complete Streets now. In addition, work is being done to incorporate the evaluation matrix information into a map-based tool to promote corridor planning.
