Safety Tips!

  • Education
Bike Safety Education Programs are available to groups, large or small, anywhere in Lee County. Our certified Bicycle Safety Education Trainer will work with any group (including public or private schools, youth organizations, civic and service organizations, and other formal or informal groups) at your location. We can provide a curriculum appropriate for the ages of the participants as well as the cones, signs, and other items needed to set-up a multi-station outdoor course for cyclists to learn the skills needed to safely navigate roadways and trails. There is no fee for our assistance, but time commitment, scheduling, and other arrangements must be made well in advance and are based on availability of our trainer and desired date(s).
Please call 332-9514 for more information.

  • Training
Besides safety education for cyclists, our certified Bicycle Safety Education Trainer can arrange instructor training for those interested in conducting their own Bike Safety Education Program(s). Along with other certified Bicycle Safety Education Trainers we will conduct training for PE teachers, law enforcement and public safety workers, or others desiring these skills.

Please call 332-9514 for more information.

  • Helmet Distribution
Bicycle helmets of all sizes, from toddler to adult, are available to anyone for $5 each. All are ANSI-approved and are effective for use by in-line skaters and skateboarders as well as cyclists. Group purchases, especially those related to schools and youth organizations, are encouraged and are handled by our certified Bicycle Safety Education Trainer.

SafeLee is an innovative "hands-on" traffic safety program aimed at children 4-8 years old, available to any group, school (public or private), daycare center, or youth organization wishing to expose young children to the basics of pedestrian safety.  This "kid-sized" street allows children to experience sidewalk, driveway, and street crossing hazards first-hand but without the risk that is associated with the real thing. There is no fee for this program, but time commitment, scheduling, and other arrangements must be made well in advance and are based on availability of our educator and desired date(s).   Please call 332-9514 for more information.

Additionally, Injury Prevention Specialists are available for expos and presentations to your organization or group, usually at no cost. Please contact us at 332-9504 if you’d like to know more about our services or to inquire about scheduling.
