TB

Tuberculosis is a reportable disease and Florida state law mandates that all active tuberculosis cases be reported to the Health Department. In addition, the Health Department is responsible for treating or monitoring the treatment of all cases until cure.

TB Services at the Lee County Health Department include:

Medical management

Medication (including Directly Observed Therapy)

Chest x-rays

Sputum smears and cultures

Other lab work as indicated

PPD’s

Contact investigations

Preventive treatment for inactive TB infection
