LeeTran has partnered with the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge and the City of Sanibel to conduct a transportation study to improve visitor mobility while reducing congestion. Public Workshop on New Transportation Projects New federal funding is available for transportation projects serving the elderly, disabled, low-income and unemployed. A workshop is planned to gather public input. Click here for more information. Commission Approves Fare Increase The Lee County Commission approved LeeTran's fare increase. This will go into effect on Oct. 1, 2008. Click here for more information. LeeTran Seeks Land for New Facility Click here for the April 2008 newsletter describing LeeTran's efforts to identify and purchase land to build a new administration and maintenance facility. About LeeTran LeeTran is operated under the authority of Lee County Government and the Lee County Board of Commissioners. LeeTran operates 18 fixed bus routes which last year provided more than 3 million rides to residents and visitors. In addition, LeeTran provides a "Park and Ride" trolley service to and from Fort Myers Beach. LeeTran also operates Passport, an ADA paratransit service for disabled citizens who are not able to use the fixed route system. Passport service is available along the same corridors served by regular buses. Public transit services are available Monday through Saturday, from 5:00 a.m. to 9:45 p.m., with limited Sunday service on some routes.
