Library System Joins Forces With
Fort Myers
Miracle Baseball To Promote Summer Reading
Kids Asked to Show Library Card at Sunday’s
Game for Free Prize!
FORT MYERS, FL, June
16, 2004 – The Lee County Library System (LCLS) will be attending
the Fort Myers Miracle “Books and Bats” baseball game this Sunday,
June 20 at 1:05 p.m. at the Lee County Sports Complex.
Children age 18 and under are encouraged to visit the LCLS display
at the game and show their library cards to receive a special prize.
Information will also be available on the library system’s summer
reading program for kids and teens that is scheduled through July
24.
Two additional “Books
and Bats” games will be held on July 6 and August 3. Kids age 12 and
under can receive two free tickets to any of these games by
completing a Miracle “Books and Bats” reading log and redeeming it
at a participating Pizza Hut. The logs are available at all Lee
County Library System locations, Pizza Hut and the Lee County Sports
Complex.
Miracle Baseball
players will also be making appearances throughout July and August
at Lee County Library System locations. Players will talk to kids
and their families about baseball, sign autographs, and introduce
“Miss A-Miracle,” the team’s new mascot! For a list of dates and
