Pitching Reading to
Families @ South County Regional Library
FORT MYERS, FL, July 12, 2004
–Library patrons enjoyed an afternoon of baseball fun and activities
at South County Regional Library on Saturday, July 10.
More than 25 children and
adults attended this Lee County Library System program for an
opportunity to meet Fort Myers Miracle Baseball Team members Brett
Tamburrino and Jeff Randazzo. The players signed autographs,
answered questions and posed for pictures with baseball fans.
Patrons also had a chance to meet the Fort Myers Miracle’s new
mascot, “Miss A-Miracle.”
Program attendee Rachel
Whitehead spent her time before the program studying the Florida
Baseball League team names. The young fan’s hard work paid off when
she won box seats to a Miracle game and a set of baseball cards by
correctly answering the “Baseball Around Florida” word game. Patrons
also enjoyed a baseball-themed bean bag toss and borrowed books
about the sport from special displays set up for the occasion.
Additional Fort Myers Miracle
presentations will be held throughout the Lee County Library System.
