Ranger Toni Westland, of the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, will present a program on manatees. Come and get great information, see a manatee skull and rib and make a manatee puppet (for students age 6 and up; parents are welcome). Registration is requested.

Listen to a few chapters from Andrew Clements’ popular book, “Frindle.” It is a story of Nick (a mischievous fifth-grader) and his strict teacher, Mrs. Granger. Things get out of control when Nick invents a brand-new word. Registration is required.

  • “The Giving Tree”
    7 p.m. Monday, March 12
    Once there was a tree that loved a little boy. The boy would play with the tree, and the tree was happy. As the boy grew up, their relationship began to change. Enjoy a reading of this heartfelt tale; a discussion and craft will follow. Registration is requested.                                                                                                                                                               

  • “Celia Cruz, Queen of Salsa”
    2 p.m. Monday, April 9
    What would you like to be when you grow up: a musician, songwriter or dancer? Come and hear how Celia Cruz became the “Queen of Salsa.” A discussion and craft will follow. Registration is requested.

Make a Kite!

4 p.m. Wednesday, March 14

Join others at the library’s second-annual Kite Making Extravaganza! Come and make a kite, decorate it and take it home to fly. The library will supply the kite and paint; you supply your creative ideas (for children age 6 and up).

 

Irish Tales

4 p.m. Thursday, March 15

Come and celebrate the luck of the Irish. Enjoy traditional Irish folktales, songs and activities (for age 6 and up). A craft will be included. Registration is requested.

 

Baby Animals

    What do you think about Mark, the new kid at Hardy Elementary? Why would he run away from the school camping trip? How will he survive a night lost in the woods? Share your thoughts about this exciting story. Registration is requested.       

Enchanted Tea Party

Enjoy magical fairy tales and an enchanted tea party in the library’s Story Garden. Come dressed in a fairy or elf costume, if you wish (for age 6 and up). Registration is requested.
