Books-By-Mail
Eligibility
How it Works To Apply
Newsletter
Books-By-Mail is a fast, convenient
service that supplies books, books-on-tape, and videotapes to people who are unable to use
the library system due to temporary or long-term physical and medical disabilities.
The rich collections of the Lee County Library System are as close as the mailbox through
Books-By-Mail.
Who May
Receive This Service?
Children and adults who cannot visit the
library system's branches or the Bookmobile due to a physical or medical disability -- and
their caregivers -- qualify for Books-By-Mail service.

How
Does the Service Work?
Books-By-Mail sends materials through
the mail in zippered, nylon bags to registered patrons. When the materials are due for
return, the patron attaches postage and mails the bag back to Books-By-Mail. (Postage free
service is available to those who qualify.) To save money, the bag may be dropped off at
any branch of the Lee County Library System or the Bookmobile.
Patrons may request library materials by phone or
mail. Books-By-Mail provides reader's advisory service upon request and alerts patrons to
new arrivals through a quarterly newsletter.
Books-By-Mail patrons receive a library card that
may be used at any library in the Lee County Library System.
