What are Talking Books?
Books and magazines that are recorded for people who need to "hear" their reading. Talking Books are played on special players provided free by the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (a division of the Library of Congress).  If a book is not available locally, Lee County Talking Books Library patrons also receive loans from the Florida Bureau of Braille and Talking Book Library Services collection of more than 2 million books in Braille and recorded formats available to individuals with print disabilities.  There are materials for readers of all ages and interests.

There are materials for readers of all ages and interests. We can also direct you to special programs that record textbooks and professional materials, and that read the local news on the radio.
