Your Camera and Digital Photography - Now in 2 parts

Have a new or not so new digital camera? We can make digital cameras easier. Here’s an opportunity to learn all about it from the ground up. We will explain the basics of digital cameras and help you get yours working. We will talk about features and options and show you how to use them on your camera. We’ll show you how to improve your photo skills with ideas for better composition, using point of view, and artistic considerations. We’ll explain portraits, landscapes, and travel photos and how to come home with better images. Finally, we will discuss how to share those images with others.

Part 1 will cover the basics of camera operations, taking pictures, and emailing pictures.  Part 2 will cover control of your camera, composition, organizing photos (directory structure), PC software, and a photo assignment.

Have fun with hands-on experience and discover how to take better photos. Bring your camera (in working order), instruction manual, and be ready to take a few pictures. We will coach you in class and ask you to participate in a photo assignment. These two morning workshops are filled with helpful information.
Please preregister. Registration begins in October.

Housekeeping for Your PC

Most of us use our PCs much as we would a kitchen appliance. We expect them to work and respond whenever we turn them on. But, PCs will work a lot better (and so will we) if we do a little housekeeping on the machine from time-to-time. This seminar will present some fundamentals that all PC users (beginners thru advanced) should follow.

This morning-long seminar will walk you through many of the essential housekeeping steps you can and should do on your PC. These include:

  • Using the Start Menu
  • Windows Explorer & directory structures
  • Removing  programs and files
  • Cleaning that disk drive
  • What are: defrag, recycle, scan, and cookies?
  • When is that new PC needed?

The handouts will allow you to follow along with the large screen presentation. There will be time at the end for you to ask questions. Please preregister. Registration begins in October.
