"The
Breadwinner" tells the story of Parvana, a girl who lives in Afghanistan
under strict Taliban rule. After her father is taken to prison, Parvana
must dress as a boy and find work to support her family. "The Breadwinner"
is a suitable choice for children in grades 5- 8 who wish to participate
in the One Book, One Community: Lee County Reads project.

One Community title, "The Kite Runner". Learn about this cutthroat sport
and make a kite to take home (ages 9-18).
