Lee County is currently negotiating a Project Cooperation Agreement with USACE. The following steps are necessary for execution:

• Review and approval by USACE District Headquarters:

• Review and approval by USACE Washington Headquarters:

• Review, approval and signature by the Assistant Secretary of the Army's office. 

Upon finalizing this agreement, the project will move for construction. It is estimated construction could not begin before March 06.

Procurement of federal easements along the gulf side of all parcels is required for federal cost sharing. To date, approximately half of the shorefront footage is eligible for cost sharing.
