Cohn Branch
The Cohn Branch Watershed is located in the north central area of Lee County. It is approximately one half square mile in size. The watershed trunk originates at the Caloosahatchee approximately 3 1/2 miles east of Old U.S. 41. The Cohn Branch Watershed is approximately 2300' wide and about 6000' long downstream of State Road 78. The area upstream of State Road 78 is approximately 1500' wide by 1800' long. This watershed is generally located between the Marsh Point Watershed and the Daughtrey Creek Watershed.
The watershed boundary has changed somewhat since the "Lee County Interim Surface Water Management Plan." Much of the area formerly in this watershed north of State Road 78 is now considered to be part of either the Daughtrey Creek or Marsh Point watersheds. The remaining watershed is approximately 50% of the area noted in the Interim Plan.
Johnson Engineering utilized a number of verification methods including on-the-ground reconnaissance to generally confirm the watershed boundary presented in this report. There are no significant structural flow crossings along the watershed boundary. The Cohn Branch main trunk has not been significantly modified in many years.
A general description of the Cohn Branch Watershed boundary is as follows: the northwest corner of the watershed starts at a point on Slater Road 2,850 feet north of SR 78; then run east approximately 1600 feet; then south along a driveway to State Road 78; then northeast along State Road 78 for approximately 500 feet; then south and east by contour to Winston Road. Continue east along Winston Road to Westwood Road; then south along Westwood Road to the river; then run west by contour, parallel to the conveyance, to Stevenson Road; then north along Stevenson Road to Donald Road; then west along Donald Road to Coon Road; then north along Coon Road crossing State Road 78 and continue north along Johnson Road; then west along a private drive, approximately 600 feet north of State Road 78, over to Slater Road; then north along Slater Road to the northwest corner of the watershed.
The above description is provided as general information only and does not constitute a legal description. See the watershed boundary map on page 19-WM for details of the boundary.
