 Stroud Creek

The Stroud Creek Watershed is located in the north central area of Lee County. It is approximately nine square miles in size with four square miles in Lee County and five square miles in Charlotte County. The trunk originates at the Caloosahatchee approximately 200' east of I-75. The Stroud Creek Watershed is approximately 3,000 feet wide in its lower reaches and approximately 9,000 feet wide at the Lee-Charlotte County line. It is located east of the Popash Creek Watershed and west of the Palm Creek and Owl Creek watersheds.

The watershed boundary has not changed significantly since the 1979 "Water Management in Lee County" report by Johnson Engineering. Some refinement to the boundaries with adjacent watersheds has been made since the "Lee County Interim Surface Water Management Plan."

Johnson Engineering utilized a number of verification methods including on-the-ground reconnaissance to generally confirm the watershed boundary presented in this report. There are no significant structural flow crossings along the watershed boundary. The Stroud Creek trunk remains a natural channel which has seen little modification.

A general description of the Stroud Creek Watershed boundary within Lee County is as follows: beginning on the Lee-Charlotte County line approximately 1,700 feet west of the northwest corner of Section 2, Township 43 South, Range 25 East run east for 9,000 feet; then south and southwest by contour to a point 4,000 feet south of the Lee-Charlotte County line and 800 feet east of the east line of Section 2, Township 43 South, Range 25 East; then run west to the east line of Section 2; then southwest and west by contour to a point 4,500 feet south of the Lee-Charlotte County line and 3,000 feet west of the east line of Section 2; then run generally south by contour to the power line grade; then run southeast along the power line grade for 1,500 feet; then run east for 500 feet; then south and southwest and south by contour to a point on Deal Road approximately 2,600 feet east of the channel; then west on Deal Road to Durrance Road; then south on Durrance Road to the power line grade; then generally southeast, southwest and south by contour to a point on SR 78 approximately 2,700 feet east of the channel; then continue south and southwest by contour to the north bank of the Caloosahatchee; then west along the north bank of the Caloosahatchee for 200 feet; then northwest and north by contour to the intersection of SR 78 and Nalle Road; then north along Nalle Road for 10,300 feet; then east for 800 feet; then north for 900 feet; then east for 500 feet; then north for 800 feet; then west for 400 feet; then north for 400 feet; then west for 700 feet; then north for 400 feet; then west for 200 feet; then north for 5,400 feet; then east for 1,000 feet; then north to the Lee-Charlotte County line.
