Ground Water Resources

The ground water unit has several responsibilities in protecting the County's groundwater resources. Major tasks of this Unit are enforcing the County well code, issuance of well construction permits, construction of monitoring of wells, and inspection of wells for compliance with the code requirements.  The Unit provides hydrogeological data and interpretations for the public, water well contractors, consultants, and County offices. The Unit acts as liaison between the County and the Well Construction Advisory Board. The Unit also manages the County's Water Shortage Plan, assists with the management of the Well field Protection Ordinance and grant/CIP projects.
