Can’t Make It to a Board Meeting? Submit an Ecomment

eCommentsMembers of the public who are unable to attend the weekly Lee County Commission meetings can still share their opinions on agenda items with the Board through “Ecomments.” After the agenda is posted online each Tuesday for the following week, simply click on "Comment on this agenda" to fill out an electronic submission form. The deadline to submit comments is midnight Sunday night.

Construction at SR 82 and Colonial/Lee Boulevard Overnight Sunday

The intersection of SR 82 and Colonial/Lee Boulevard will be reduced to one through lane in each direction from 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, to 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6. Crews will relocate traffic signals, restripe lanes and shift traffic south to the newly constructed roadway to allow for the installation of underground utilities and the construction of the future westbound Colonial/Lee Boulevard. Left turns will not be allowed Sunday night. Motorists should expect delays from periodic road closures and should seek alternate routes if possible. Visit www.SR82Lee.com for project details.


Moore Haven Lock to Close for Installation of Manatee Protection System

Boaters who use the Moore Haven lock on the Okeechobee Waterway are invited to a public meeting Thursday, Feb. 16 in Clewiston to hear plans by The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District to temporarily close the lock for the installation of the Manatee Protection System (MPS). Work is tentatively scheduled to begin April 2, when traffic conditions and water levels are low, and will last approximately two months. The public meeting will include an open house at 6 p.m. and a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m. at the South Florida Operations Office conference room, 525 Ridgelawn Road, Clewiston.
