The South Florida Water Management District has declared a water shortage and Phase III Watering Restrictions will begin on January 15, 2008.

* No address or if the irrigation system waters mulitiple addresses, they will follow Thursday's schedule.

 

NO WATERING IS ALLOWED:

  • Any time on Tuesday or Friday
  • Any day between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

NEW LANDSCAPING OR SOD - 5 ACRES OR LESS:

  • 30 Days or less - 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, & Sunday. 
  • 31 to 60 Days - 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday.       

NEW LANDSCAPING OR SOD - 5 ACRES OR MORE:

  • 30 Days or less - 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, & Sunday. 
  • 31 to 60 Days - 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday.

HAND WATERING IS ALLOWED:

  • 10 minutes per day with a single hose with an attached automatic shut off nozzle.

CAR OR BOAT WASHING:

  • No restriction on car or boat washing, but it is recommended to wash the vehicle over a non-paved or porous surface.  It is also recommended to limit boat washing to 15 minutes after it has been in saltwater.

Who Can I Call to Report a Watering Violation?

For residents within unincorporated Lee County they can call 239-274-2547 to report a watering violation.

 

For residents living within the City of Cape Coral, City of Bonita Springs, City of Sanibel and Captiva Island, City of Ft. Myers, and the Town of Ft. Myers Beach they should contact their local law enforcement or code enforcement to report watering violations.


Where Can I Go To Apply For A Variance?

If you can not meet the new irrigation restrictions, you may apply for a variance through the SFWMD.  The application form is online at: Variance Application, and the instruction form is online at: Variance Instructions.
